Support and advice

If you would like to start training pupil library assistants in your library, the first thing we would advise is that you join CILIP SLG and the School Library Association. Both of these organisations are invaluable sources of support and advisory material for use in your library.

As a member of the SLA you will have access to this superb toolkit for training pupil library assistants.

CILIP SLG provide training and support for people who wish to train pupil library assistants, and you can find details and contacts for these events on the CILIP website. This link is for a previous event, but please do contact the organiser for details of future events.

We would also recommend these publications from Facet Publishing - CILIP members can purchase these at a discount.

You will also find lots of useful advice on the Heart of the School blog.

We are sorry that we are unable to answer specific enquiries about your individual training schemes.
