About the School Library Association (SLA)
The School Library Association is an independent charity that believes that every pupil is entitled to effective school library provision. The SLA works towards all schools in the UK having their own (or shared) staffed library to help all children and young people fulfil their potential. School staff and children should have access to a wide and varied range of resources and have the support of an expert guide in reading, research, media and information literacy. Until that’s a reality we work to support everyone involved with school libraries, building a reading culture or information literacy – helping all schools take positive action for their pupils. www.sla.org.uk
